Matthew Worwood
Matthew Worwood is an academic creative, education consultant and full-time faculty member in the Digital Media & Design Department at the University of Connecticut. As an educator and scholar-practitioner, his work explores the intersection of creativity, education, and emerging technologies—bridging research and practice to help educators navigate the evolving landscape of teaching and learning in the age of AI.
Matthew is the co-host of the Fueling Creativity in Education podcast, a weekly series that bridges the science of creativity with classroom practice. He is also the creator and producer of the documentary roundtable series TeacherRoundtables.com, which captures authentic conversations among educators exploring creativity and innovation in education.
As a learning designer and researcher, Matthew blends design thinking, creativity, and adult learning theory to support transformative teaching practices across educational contexts. His current research and writing focus on teacher creativity and co-creativity in the age of generative AI, and he is the author of two forthcoming books on creativity and AI to be published by Academic Press and Prufrock Press.
With nearly two decades of experience in education, Matthew has led the development of innovative K–12 programs and collaborated with educators and schools to build sustainable cultures of creativity, innovation, and professional growth. His past projects include managing a parent blog, Raising Creative Kids, which provided insights and strategies for nurturing creativity at home, and founding Class of 2032, a crowdsourcing project that engaged hundreds of educators, parents, and students to imagine the future of learning for the graduating class of 2032.
